Below we have prepared some frequently asked questions for you convenience and reference.

Q. Do you have a showroom?

Yes, we have a showroom at our office; 20 Cardiff Court, Cavan, 5094. Open M-F 7:30 to 4:30. We also have a display at “The Home Ideas Centre” on Anzac Parade.

 

Q. How do I find your showroom?

Q. What colours are available?

There is a wide choice of colours available today. Unitex has a standard range available with samples, but with computer technology we can match any client colour. Whether to match a preferred paint company colour, ‘Colourbond’ sheet or a material sample of unknown colour.

 

Q. How do I get a quote?

Contact our office (8262 7900) or e-mail (sales@unitexsa.com.au) to discuss your requirements and we can either give you the contacts for qualified tradespeople, or arrange an in-house quotation depending on your specific project and requirements.

 

Q. Can you recommend a contractor?

We work with and supply an extensive list of contractors in all areas of the State. We can supply you with the name and contact details for contractors who work in your area. We advise clients to request references for recently completed work and satisfy themselves that they can complete the work to their satisfaction.

 

Q. Where can you see finished projects?

We endeavour to keep a list of current and recent projects at our office. By contacting our office (8262 7900) our sales staff can supply you addresses for projects that are hopefully local to you.

 

Q. Do you provide a warranty?

Yes, Unitex stands by its products which have been manufactured here in Adelaide for over 30 years. Apart from standard fitness for purpose warranties, we offer a 10 years material warranty on projects that fully utilise Unitex products at each stage of the Render, Texture and Painting process that comply with the appropriate installation/application recommendations, against any material defect.

 

Q. Do any major builders/developers use your products?

The Unitex brand is well recognised and respected in the building and construction industry, for over 30 years. Our products are used extensively by many of the State’s major building contractors. By contacting our sales staff on 8262 7900 or visiting our ‘Showroom’ in Cavan we would be happy to discuss further this with you.

 

Q. Can I do it myself?

This very much depends on the extent of the project and the individual’s personal capabilities and experience. If you are considering a major Render and Texture project we would generally advise considering using the services of a skilled tradesperson. For smaller projects that are not major features of you property, then a capable DIY enthusiast can tackle a project and we have a range of products to suit and assist the application in these areas. With respect to our Unishape Mould products, these can generally be installed again by a capable DIY enthusiast. We can also provide detailed installation instructions and all the ancillary fixing materials required.

 

Q. Do you sell direct to the public?

Yes. We can supply you with all the Unitex materials required for your project. These can be collected from our office at 20 Cardiff Court in Cavan, or delivered to your site. As some materials require additional work before supply, such as tinting of Texture coatings or Protective Paints, it is advised to contact the office with your order (8262 7900) prior to collection.

 

Q. Can someone visit me on-site and help me choose?

 Yes. By contacting our office (8262 7900) an appointment can be arranged for one of our Sales staff to meet with you on site. They carry samples of all of our materials, particularly our Unishape products so that you can view the product in-situ. If necessary they will also take templates where required.

 

Q. Can you match existing/heritage mouldings?

Yes, we have worked on several projects where we have manufactured moulding to match existing projects and we can provide reference to these on request.

We can also manufacture moulding to a client’s own designs. We frequently provide this service where our extensive range of standard products does not quite satisfy the design requirements of a specific project.

 

Q. Do you install the moulds?

We can supply a complete supply and install service. We have contacts with several tradespeople who work extensively with us to provide this service. This allows us to provide you with a full quotation for the supply of materials and installation for your project.

 

Q. What are your mouldings made of?

It is a proprietary formulation of a light weight polymer and cement based material, which allows us to produce a solid, extremely light weight and strong product, unique in the market place. It is extremely durable, not subject to attack and will last the lifetime of a project when properly installed. Comprehensive installation instructions can be provide for DIY installation.

 

Q. Will birds peck and damage your moulds as I have seen with some other products?

No. Our moulds are a solid construction of a light weight polymer and cement based material. Birds are known to use building facades’ to clean and sharpen their beaks; this will not create other than extremely minor surface damage, if any at all. Many birds do like polystyrene and will peck into it to use possibly as nesting material, once exposed considerable damage can be done.

 

Q. If I send you a photograph of a house can you match the mouldings?

We can make a fairly accurate design of the profiles, although it is not possible to make an accurate measurement of the overall dimensions from a photograph. Once the profile has been designed, we can discuss with the client the overall dimension that they would like for their specific project and the appropriate tooling can then be fabricated to produce the finished product.

 

Q. Are you open on weekends?

Our showroom and offices is open Mon – Fri 7:30 to 4:30, and we have a display at the ‘Home Ideas Centre’ on Anzac Parade which is open 7 days a week. If you have a specific requirement out with these times our sales staffs are happy to make a mutually agreed time to meet you on site. Q. What is the ‘R’ rating for your ‘Thermal Wall System’ (TWS) and ‘BaseBoard systems?

Using a 75mm insulation panel, this will give a system ‘R’ rating of 2.4. Increasing the panel to 100mm will increase the rating to over 3.1. The ‘TWS’ system has been fully tested by the CSIRO and a copy of the test results and certification can be found on our website, www.unitexsa.com.au or from our sales staff (8262 7900).

 

Q. I am in the country; do you have any local suppliers?

Yes, we have stockists and suppliers throughout the State. Please contact our office (08 8262 7900) and we can advise you of your nearest supplier, or if this is not suitable we could arrange to supply direct.
